Purpose of Job

The HR Advisor will be a key member of the team and be the first point of contact for employees and line managers in dealing with a wide variety of HR queries and activites.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

The position will involve the following areas of responsibility:

  • To provide confidential advice on a broad range of HR matters mostly relating to company policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment and employee benefits
  • To deal with employee relations issues and provide support to line managers across the business
  • To take the lead in employee induction for HR and regarding new starter induction and development actions
  • Advising on performance management activities and resolutions
  • Assisting with bi - annual performance management process
  • Supporting director and department heads with policy development/ implentation and ensuring policies are updated in line with changes in employment law and best practice
  • Conducting exit interviews, analysing trends and giving management feedback and advice
  • Supporting annual employee engagement prcess
  • Ownership of Housing License process
  • Assisting with annual pay review process
  • Mentoring and providing development opportunites for the office secretary

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant HR qualification
  • To have a good working knowledge of UK and Guernsey employment legislation and practice
  • To have had previous exposure to employee relations issues including handling disciplinary and grievance hearings and assisting in absence and performance management acitvites
  • To have excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • The ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and to investigate, analyse and reason logically
  • To be a proficient user of MS Office packages including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

 

Desirable Criteria

  • CIPD Qualified or working towards
